Gmail adds Drag and Drop

Gmail adds Drag and Drop

by Jason GreenMay 12, 2010

Gmail has added the ability to “Drag and Drop” images IN to e-mails. A feature that has been lacking in all web based e-mail systems until now. You can also drag any other file to create an attachment.

One of the best things about this feature is that the image is shown inline with the text, and not attached. Right now it only works  in Google Chrome, but according to Google’s blog, they promise it will soon work on other browsers. I personally tried it in Chrome, and I must says it’s awesome!

I also dragged some you tube video links into a message, and when my wife opened them in here gmail, the videos played like they were embedded in the e-mail. That’s just what we’d expect from the big “G”.
